Alliance, Ohio - August 23, 2017

Well this last week was amazing! I already sent some pictures out, but Brent and Aimee and Cody and Justin all got baptized on Saturday evening! It started a little bit late, but that's okay because better late than never, right? There were some clothing malfunctions but it was all worked out and we had probably the worst piano player ever there to play! Oh wait, that was me. No, it was good. There were some great talks that got Aimee crying, and she is not a crier, so that's saying something. For the actual baptisms, I baptized the youngest son, Justin, Elder Coppieters baptized the older son, Cody, and then a member here in the ward that knows the family baptized Brent and Aimee, so there was a lot of in and out of the font for everyone to get it all done. There were also some slips going down in, luckily not by me, because who would have thought that plastic steps covered in water would be slippery? It was good though, gave everyone some laughs before. Every baptism is amazing, but being able to actually participate in the baptizing and have it be an entire family getting baptized all together made it even more special! Now we just have to get more people to that point and keep working hard! The confirmations were done on Sunday as well, and the person that baptized each person also did the confirmations, so I was able to confirm Justin! That was a cool experience to be able to do. We also talked with Cody about going on a mission in a couple of years, and he said that him and his mom have talked about it and he will think about it, and we are going to start taking him teaching with us now that he has been baptized! It's something that his mom wants us to do, so it's for sure going to happen and hopefully help him have the desire to serve a mission in a few years!

The remainder of this week is going to be crazy! We have exchanges with the zone leaders tomorrow, then zone conference on Friday, and then going to Kirtland with Brad on Saturday, so just packed crazy full with everything. He is still doing well and was at church again on Sunday, just working on getting him reading from the Book of Mormon again and living the Word of Wisdom. Those are the big things for him.

Just a quick update on Lynn, she was planning on coming to the baptism on Saturday and church on Sunday, but then she had other things come up Saturday night and her brother wanted her to go to church with him on Sunday, so she did that instead. But we had a clothing giveaway at the church on Saturday before the baptism that she came to so we were able to give her a tour of the church and show her some of the different rooms there and talk a little bit more about what church is like. It was the first time I've ever given a church tour, but it was good. We just found out last night that she has gone to the hospital because she had ammonia or pneumonia, her niece wasn't really sure what was wrong, so keep her in your prayers! Other than that, things are going great here in Alliance!

Have a good week!
Love Elder Woodward
