Yo,
What's up? How's the house without me? I'm sure there's a lot less belching going on because everyone else listens to mom when she says not to burp. Tell Zander to keep up my legacy. Also tell him to stop sleeping in my bed. I know he is. Where else would he sleep?
In case you didn't get my letter, my p-day is Tuesday, hence why I'm emailing. It's been a looooong week. There has been so much to do. Definitely don't get enough sleep. 8 hours isn't enough. I'm sure dad will roll his eyes when he reads that. The first couple of days took so long to get through just because everything is so different and it takes some time getting used to. Everyone here says once you make it to the first Sunday, time flies, and based on yesterday and today it has. So much faster than last week.
They had all the new mission presidents here last week when I got here so everything has been thrown out of wack. We weren't allowed in the main building until Sunday for sacrament meeting, so we didn't even get to go the cafeteria until yesterday. They had the gym set up with tables and chairs as a makeshift cafeteria and brought food down there. It was ok. Since they couldn't use the cafeteria to make food, they had to have places cater for us. We had Subway, Chick-fil-a, Papa John's, some weird place from on campus, and Taco Bell. Make sure Darcy knows that. Free Taco Bell. She'll die.
Apparently my district is bigger than usual. There's eight elders and four sisters. All of the sisters are going to Minneapolis, three of the elders are going to Kansas, and the other five elders are going to Cleveland. I haven't seen the other sisters that mom knew about that are going to Cleveland or any other elders so I don't know. The elders in my room are super cool. We all get along super well and are literally always together. Two of them are going to Kansas, then me and my companion are both going to Cleveland. My companion is Elder Walker. He's a super cool dude. We're both 19. Sometimes we have trouble staying on task and studying like we should, but we're working on it.
The showers suck. There's no way that I have enough time to shower. Who likes a five minute shower? Definitely not me. Just kidding. My showers are definitely shorter than at home. Like five minutes. You might need to give dad CPR now.
Why is Jeff Cassar so stupid? And yes dad, I knew every one of those players that you said played against Dallas. Did the US beat Colombia in the third place game? Probably not because the US sucks and Klinsmann's an idiot.
Me and my companion taught our first lesson on Thursday. Not even 16 hours after arriving at the MTC. We teach pretty well together. We've had some super good lessons and other lessons that we know were just bad. But it's all a learning experience. That's why we come to the MTC first. We also got two investigators that we started teaching this week so that's been fun having semi-real investigators. The only reason I say semi-real investigators is because some of them are members who are just acting like non-members but others are real investigators and we don't know who is who. There's so much to learn and it's crazy how much I've learned it just a week. One thing we found out pretty darn quick is that it doesn't matter how well you plan out a lesson, it can change just based on an investigator's answer to one simple question. Then you just have to go by the spirit and hope you're saying the right things. It's fun though.
Thanks for the support, love you all
Elder Woodward
P.S. I hope this letter is long enough for mom
